1 How much does registration cost?

On our website, under Library use and then clicking on Registration/library membership, you will find the current registration fees for the main library and the branch libraries.

 

2 What discounts are available?

You can also find our discounted registration rates in the Registration/library membership section under Library Use.

 

3 When is the library open?

You can find the current opening hours of the main library and the branch libraries in the Contact/Opening hours section of our website.

 

4 How many extensions can I request for the documents on loan?

Two extensions can be requested if the document(s) have not been advance booked. In the first case, you can do this using our online catalogue (one day before the expiry date). Our library use video will help you to do this. Also by calling 88/560-610, extensions 110 and  111 or by e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The second time, this is only possible if you present the document in person.

 

5 Do I need a library card for a return?

You needn't bring it with you, just in case you want to borrow another item.

 

6 How many documents can I borrow per library card?

A maximum of 20 documents may be borrowed at any one time (details in the Library Use and Services Policy)

 

7 Can I borrow an adult book with a child's library card?

This is not possible.

 

8 If I no longer have my library card, how do I get another one?

We will issue you a new library card for a fee of HUF 300.

 

9 How much is the late fee?

on the 1st notice: HUF 1,000

2nd notice: HUF 1,500

3rd notice: HUF 2,000

4th notice: HUF 3,000

 

10 Will I receive a reminder email about the expiry date?

Yes, a reminder will automatically be sent to the email address you have provided one day before the expiry date.

 

11 Can periodicals be borrowed?

Periodicals may not be borrowed.

Yes, with a valid library card.

 

17 Do I need to register separately?

No, the library card is valid for the whole library.

 

18 Can computers be used?

Yes, adults may use the catalogue; children may use the catalogue and the internet.

 

19 Can I come with my baby?

Yes, little ones will find storybooks and toys to suit their tastes in the fairytale corner and "Children's Island".

 

20 Can I feed and change my baby here?

Yes, there is a separate " Baby-Mummy " corner for breastfeeding, changing nappies and reheating baby food.

 

21 Can I play board games with my friends here?

Yes, we have many interesting board games.

 

22 Can I bring my class to a library demo session?

Yes, groups are welcome by prior appointment over the phone.

 

23 Can nursery groups come?

Yes, we welcome groups from the age of 3.

 

24 Does the library offer playroom activities?

Yes, related to holidays and seasons.

 

25 Do I have to pay for these?

No, participation is free of charge.
