Reader Service
We are located on levels 2 and 3 of the library. The Book Selection (shelf-access) area and the Reading Room belong to us.
In the Book Selection area, you'll find all the books available for adults to borrow: specialised literature, fiction, poetry, romantic fiction, crime and fantasy, as well as the popular Golden and Red Dot series of Könyvmolyképző ('Bookworm Trainer'). The foreign language section offers a wide range of fiction and non-fiction volumes in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and other languages.
This is also where orders from storage are picked up. Only readers with a subscription or a daily ticket can order items to be fetched.
The Reading Room houses the Music and Media Collection with music CDs, DVDs, audio books and sheet music. Here you will also find handbooks, encyclopaedias and dictionaries for on-site use. This is the floor where we have our reprographic service (photocopying, printing, scanning, photography). The Reading Room is also a place for study and more in-depth work.
Our computer room is available for those who would like to work or use the internet on the readers' computers. Our catalogue and free databases are also available on the latter. Located at the end of the room is the Community Room, where we hold our events and clubs.
We currently have 5 clubs of our own organisation running on a monthly basis.
The gems of Hungarian film culture, Music club in the library, Italian and French club and French conversation club.
The periodicals reading area is located at the end of the Reading Room.
We also carry out literature research at the request of our readers.
Let us enrich the library together!
We are looking for your suggestions on what books you would like to read, what CDs, audio books you would like to listen to, what DVDs you would like to borrow, or what you are missing from the county library’s collection.
Music and media collection
Our Music Library on the third floor offers a rich collection of thousands of CDs, DVDs, audio books and scores, which can be selected in a free shelving arrangement.
With a wide range of genres and documentary types, film and music enthusiasts alike will find the material they need for sophisticated entertainment.
The library has had a music section since 1968 and currently has over 3,000 CDs in its collection, in a wide variety of genres (classical, popular, folk, jazz, rock, world music, etc.) In addition to music recordings, the collection also includes CD-ROMs, multimedia and language audio materials.
Visitors can read music manuals, music and film magazines, specialist journals, and borrow sheet music and scores.
Our aim is to introduce the public to the masterpieces of universal cinema, so our DVD collection is based on Hungarian classic and contemporary films, Oscar-winning and international film festival-winning films, artistic films, literary adaptations, works by renowned directors and new releases.
Readers can now choose from over 3000 films.
Audiobooks are popular, not only for the blind and partially sighted, but also for long journeys.
In our music library, several times a month we produce thematic recommendations to celebrate the anniversary of a famous director, actor or musician, as well as important national holidays.
All audio materials and scores are free to borrow for our subscribed readers!
The lending period for DVDs and CDs is 14 days, for audiobooks and scores, 28 days.
